Ordering flowers from our site ensures that your order will reach us or the family in a timely manner, and your gesture of support will remain acknowledged in the Book of Memories™ for future generations. We only work with local florists so we can maintain the sense of urgency and quality of your selections. We thank you for helping to support the family during their time of need, and will fondly remember your kind gesture.
We respect the sensitivity and dignity that comes with ordering tribute gifts from the funeral home. Lissa, We are wishing you and your family the peace and joy of remembering every beautiful moment with your beloved Joe. Love and peace to you, Marguerite and Tony
Dear Lissa and Family -
As you said....Joe was your "Hero" and now he is up there looking down on you and protecting you from afar. What a great husband, father, brother, and friend he was......his legacy of character, goodwill, and kind spirit will live on in our hearts! Love, Steve & Kathy :)
The Day Family and the Benson Family grew up together in Plains, Montana and families did everything together. Joe was like my older brother. I never heard Joe say the typical childhood phrases such as" I want to be a fireman, policeman, or doctor" when we were growing up. He was not a leader or a follower, he kinda walked to beat of his own drums. He was a drummer, a good one! During the years of 1967 through about 69 he played for a band called the Satan's Playmates. After that band broke up he drummed for another band called called the Blue Gin until about 71. Joe was always their drummer. He was better than good! Without Joe there was no band.
Joe was working at the Deihl Lumber Company and I could always count on seeing Joe after school before the shift change. Once I informed Joe when I got to work that I wanted to leave Plains and go to college, Boise State but could not afford it. In big brotherly fashion he told me if you want more money you need an additional job. I did just that and soon I was able to afford the move to Boise. I can't help but think that if Joe hadn't given me that advise, I'd probably still be in Plains.
I saw Joe and Lissa in Nov. and have lit many candles since then. Joe made and impression on my life much like other family members do. He will be missed but not forgotten.
We were so honored to know Joe. He was such as sweet, unassuming man with a giant heart. I have known Joe since I was in college with Lissa. Many great memories!
